Synopsis:

“Foot Stretcher" documents a young artist's determination to become a ballerina

while simultaneously creating a film, although it is a lost cause due to her

physiological build and non-institutionalized practice.

Throughout the work the artist forces upon herself the physical aspects of a

ballerina, such as dietary restrictions and daily exercises.

The documentation begins when she sculpts and installs in her room a series of improvised ballet devices, for the purpose of stretching her body. Her rigorous training comes to a climax when she auditions for the Israeli Ballet.
